It is
impossible to keep from smiling when enjoying the artwork of Maine
illustrator, Carey Armstrong-Ellis. Ellis brings a cheerful and
humorous touch to everything she creates.
Carey
is truly a multi-talented artist who masterfully divides her time
between painting, illustration and whimsical fiber art. Her
illustrations have been published in a variety of wonderful
children's books including several written by Carey herself.

The
show at Lucy's will feature originals in oil, gouache and colored
pencil and fabric collage. Lucy's regulars will recognize Carey's
homage to the Muppets prints as well as originals of Line Dance and Attack of the Zombie Heads. In each of these pieces, Carey
has set up a still life of action figures and toys and painted them
as though they were living subjects. In doing so, she takes our
childhood memories, adds a storyline and creates a charming piece of
artwork.
Take a gander at Carey's website, www.slugworksrocks.com where she shares lots of her fabulous artwork, views of her studio and other fun treats!
